Why did Tharshan do this?

The third season of the TV reality show, Bigg Boss, kick-started on June 23 and is being hosted by veteran actor Kamal Haasan for the third consecutive time. While Kavin, Losliya, Cheran, Mugen, and Sherin were nominated for eviction last week, Cheran got the least number of votes, but was not evicted and was instead sent to the secret room.

Meanwhile, the task that is usually conducted every Monday to decide the captain for the upcoming week happened and Tharshan, Vanitha, and Losliya were the participants. While Vanitha gives up during the middle of the task, claiming that she is “sacrificing” the post for the other two, Tharshan is seen walking away as well. That leaves Losliya, who is supposedly assumed as the captain. When Losliya later tells Tharshan about how the lost opportunity might cost him in the future, Tharshan informs her that he did it for her benefit and that it was her chance to finally prove herself.

However, it seems unlikely that any housemate would make that kind of sacrifice for anybody else at this point in the game. It is being speculated by the audience that Tharshan might have given up the task due to egoistic reasons after Vanitha decided to make the supposed “sacrifice.”
