Oviya who made her acting debut in Tami cinema with 'Kalavani' in 2010 featured in a few meaningful movies after that including 'Marina' opposite Sivakarthikeyan but faded out of the limelight for a few years. She then became a contestant in the 'Bigg Boss' season one and won the hearts of millions across the world due to her pleasant personality and for playing a fair game.

The darling of the masses was recently in Sri Lanka for an event and speaking to newspersons stated that 'Bigg Boss' gave her so much of love from people and she does not know whether she deserves the same. Oviya also said that the only difference before and after the show was that people did not recognize her then but now rush towards her speak to her. She signed off by saying that she feels blessed with all this love.

On the work front Oviya is leading the cast in the woman centric '90ML' and is the leading lady of 'Kalavani 2' opposite Vimal and 'Kanchana 3' opposite Raghava Lawrence.
