Bigg Boss, which is one of the most popular TV reality shows in India, has been hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan for nearly a decade. The 13th season of the series premiered on 29 September 2019.
With just a couple of weeks left for the finale, one of the latest episodes saw Deepika Padukone gracing the show to promote her recently released 'Chhapaak', which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, and directed by Meghna Gulzar. During one of the tasks, a contestant named Arti Singh broke down when she opened up about a traumatic past incident that has been haunting her until now. She revealed that a man had locked her inside a house and had attempted to rape her when she was 13.
Speaking to an entertainment portal, Arti's sister-in-law Kashmira Shah reportedly stated regarding the revelation, "I am totally blindsided. Krushna and I have no idea about this. Only after I speak to Arti, I will be clear on this. I am deeply hurt and concerned and wish she had spoken to us about it. Of course, I want to kill the person who tried to molest her. I am devastated. I am someone who stands up for victims and I did not know I had a victim in my family."
