Balding has been mocked by many films and comedy shows. Telugu cinema is replete with body-shaming jokes about bald men. It all started with Brahmanandam's "cricket ground" getting ridiculed in films. After a point, even Brahmi started indulging in self-deprecating humour about his bald head in films. Then came shows like Jabardasth, which blissfully and unabashedly mocked balding and aging.

Some fifty bald men in Siddpet, Telangana, recently demanded that the government pay them Rs 6,000 per month as pension for undergoing mental agony. They argued that they have had to put up with lots of shame.

It's not known if they were being light-veined but they surely drew everyone's attention by making a ridiculous demand.

Will there be a day when pressure groups will ensure that bald men do get pensions from the government? Even woke societies don't have such bizarre demands in place. But if and when a pension has to be given to blad men, funds have to be surely drawn from Tollywood films that make money by body-shaming bald men. What say, folks?
