As usual Bala has ensured that there is great curiosity about his new film 'Naachiyaar' that releases tomorrow the 16th of February.  For the first time for a Bala film the heroine takes the center stage with Jyothika playing a no-nonsense cop.  GVP and newcomer Ivana play the young pair while popular producer Rockline Venkatesh has played a pivotal role.  Though Bala's favorite composer Isaigniani Ilayaraja is on board the film only has two songs and as a rarity for both the legend's films the audio has not been launched.

Jyothika who plays the title role in 'Naachiyaar' reportedly gave up a good salary to be a part of Vijay's 'Mersal' as she did not want to miss the opportunity to act under Bala's direction.  Bala is known to take his time while filming but this project has been completed in record time.  The running time at 99 minutes is the shortest film of the National Award winning director.

A surprise also awaits Bala fans as the climax of 'Naachiyaar' is said to be entirely different from what one is used to in his previous works.
