Badminton player Jwala complains about voters’ list

Badminton player Jwala Gutta has claimed that she couldn’t cast her vote today in Hyderabad because her name was missing in the voters’ list.

“I checked my name online 2-3 weeks ago, my mother’s name and my name were there, my father and my sister’s names were missing. Today we went to cast vote but my name was also missing. I don’t understand how is my name missing. I have been living here for 12 years,” Jwala told a news agency.

When many trolls confronted her by saying that she mustn’t have enrolled herself in the first place, Jwala issued a video statement saying that she did register and even found the name online.

A similar claim has been made by Tejaswini Pagadala, author and writer.  ”All my family member’s names have been deleted from the voters’ list in Hyderabad. Reapplied and appealed to the Chief Election Commissioner a month ago. Still not on the list. Disappointed!” she tweeted out.
