The wife of Atlas Cycles’ owner and promoter, Natasha Kapur, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the bathroom in her apartment at Delhi’s Aurangzeb Lane area on Tuesday afternoon.
The police found a half-page suicide note in the apartment as well. “In the note, purportedly written by her, Natasha asked her husband and children to take care of themselves. The exact reason behind her extreme step is not known and we are yet to speak to the family about it,” the investigating officials reportedly said. As the room was not locked from inside, Natasha was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.
The post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday. “Whether she was suffering from depression is being probed. The handwritten note is being sent to the forensic lab to match the handwriting with that of Natasha’s” the officer added. Although they do not suspect foul play, a case has been booked under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
