AP Government Approves Special Premieres and Ticket Hikes for ‘Akhanda 2’

In a major boost to the theatrical release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s highly anticipated action entertainer Akhanda 2, the Andhra Pradesh government has officially granted approval for special premiere shows and limited-period ticket price hikes across the state. The decision has created a wave of excitement among fans and exhibitors, who are gearing up for an explosive opening.

According to the latest orders, the government has permitted the film’s team to hold paid premieres on December 4, a day before the theatrical release. Tickets for these special shows have been capped at ₹600 (inclusive of GST), making it one of the highest-priced premiere rates approved in recent years. Trade analysts say the response for premieres is expected to be exceptional, given Balakrishna’s massive following and the strong buzz surrounding the film.

In addition to premieres, the government has also approved a 10-day ticket price hike to support the film’s theatrical run:

Approved Ticket Hike (10 Days):

Single Screens: Additional ₹75 (Including GST)
Multiplexes: Additional ₹100 (Including GST)

This move is expected to significantly boost the opening week collections, especially in mass pockets where Balakrishna enjoys an unparalleled fan base. Exhibitors have welcomed the government’s decision, stating that the price hike will help accommodate the high operational costs associated with big releases.

Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Sreenu, is one of the most awaited action dramas of the year, with fans eagerly looking forward to seeing Balakrishna reprise his iconic role. The promos, posters, and teaser have already set the internet ablaze, further heightening expectations for the film’s release.

With ticketing permissions now cleared, theatre owners are preparing to open advance bookings shortly. Trade circles are predicting record-breaking numbers, especially during the premiere night and the first weekend.

As the release date draws closer, the approval of special shows and revised pricing has set the stage for Akhanda 2 to register a thunderous start at the box office, potentially emerging as one of Balakrishna’s biggest openers.
