Dhanush's dream project 'Vada Chennai' directed by Vetrimaaran that released last weekend has not only given him his best opening till date but also high critical praise for the quality of filmmaking and excellent performances of the cast and crew.
Famed Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has lauded the film calling it the best gangster movie he has ever seen. " Vada Chennai' the most original Gangster film I have seen and so simply achieved .. Vetrimaaran you are consistently an amazing filmmaker .. one of the best we have ..Andrea Jeremaiah, Samuthirakani, Dhanush and the actors who played Senthil (Kishore), Rajan (Ameer) and Padma (Aishwarya Rajesh).. just so brilliant. And that actor who plays the brother Kannan (Saran) , in the scene where he stands up for Anbu against his father .. so much to talk about.
Anurag Kashyap has added " When I was in China and 'Vada Chennai' played there, I was told by the selectors that the 3 and a half hour version they saw was even better. Can we have the three and a half hour version exclusively on Netflix India or somehow can we see that Vetrimaaran?" High praise indeed coming from the gangster movie specialist who has made such iconic films as 'Dev D' and 'Gangs of Wasseypur'.
