Annapurna Studios Expands Distribution Slate with I’m Game, Sardar 2 and EPIC

Annapurna Studios is steadily strengthening its presence in film distribution, with a renewed focus on bringing diverse and content-driven films from different industries to Telugu audiences. The studio is expanding its distribution portfolio with films across languages, aiming to offer audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana a wider selection of distinctive cinema.

The studio has already backed its distribution initiative with films such as the Malayalam titles ‘Eko’ and ‘Balan: The Boy’, Suriya-starrer Tamil film ‘Karuppu’, released in Telugu as ‘Veerabhadrudu’, and Akkineni Akhil’s ‘Lenin’. The line-up reflects Annapurna Studios’ growing interest in films that offer different stories and experiences to Telugu audiences.

The studio has an exciting slate lined up for September. Dulquer Salmaan-starrer ‘I’m Game’, Karthi’s ‘Sardar 2’, and ‘EPIC – First Semester’ are among the films set to reach Telugu audiences through Annapurna Studios’ distribution network. Adding further strength to the September slate is ‘Ramba Oorvasi Menaka’, with Annapurna Studios associated with both the production and distribution of the film.

Speaking about the initiative, Supriya Yarlagadda, Executive Director of Annapurna Studios, said that Telugu audiences have always been passionate moviegoers who appreciate good cinema irrespective of language.

For us, cinema has no linguistic barriers when the content connects with the audience. Through our distribution initiative, we want to bring films that we genuinely believe deserve to be experienced on the big screen to audiences across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while building a transparent and sustainable distribution ecosystem.”

Annapurna Studios’ expanding distribution network is part of a larger vision to revive a commission-based distribution model, with the aim of creating stronger theatrical opportunities for story-led films. The initiative could also provide a wider platform for films from different industries to connect with Telugu audiences through theatrical releases.

With ‘I’m Game’, ‘Sardar 2’, ‘EPIC – First Semester’ and ‘Ramba Oorvasi Menaka’ lined up for September, Annapurna Studios is looking to make its growing presence in the Telugu theatrical distribution space more prominent.
