'First They Killed My Father' directed by Angelina Jolie is the official entry for the Oscars from Cambodia in the Foreign Language category and the first in history from a A-list Amercan filmmaker entering from a different country and language.
'First They Killed My Father' is the biographical story of Cambodian born American activist Loung Ung and traces her life from when she was five years old witnessing the horror regime of the Khmer Rouge a name given to the followers of the Communist Party of Kampuchea in Cambodia. The film hit the screens on the 15th of September and has received rave reviews.
