Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to donate $124 billion

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has announced that he will be donating as much as $124 billion to a noble cause. And the cause is this: fighting climate change.

“He will be donating the fortune, which is most of his wealth, towards fighting climate change and supporting people who can unify humanity in the face of deep social and political divisions,” reports have said.

The pledging has sparked a range of opinions, some optimistic and some pessimistic. “I look forward to Jeff Bezos curing world hunger and climate change by donating three times the amount of money that Elon Musk purchased Twitter for to those initiatives. Glad these problems will finally be sorted out, so we can definitely move on and never hear about them again,” wrote a student of History, commenting on Jeff’s promise. 

Meanwhile, Amazon has announced that it has decided to lay off 10,000 workers this week, which is about 3% of their corporate workforce. Bezos has been criticized for the movie at a time when he is enjoying at a $485 million superyacht.
