The word was that after the demise of Karunanidhi, MK Alagiri will be imbibed into the party. But as there was no invitation from Stalin for the same, he had also announced a silent protest on September 5 as a way of proving his strength. Reportedly about 1 lakh people will be participating in the protest.
The latest update is that Alagiri has stated to the press that he is ready to accept the leadership of Stalin if he is made to join the party. One should also note that just two days back he had warned of disastrous consequences if he is not taken into the party.
Alagiri had been expelled from the party in 2014. It is also worth noting here that Stalin has given the thumbs up for Mullaivendhan who had been expelled from the party in 2014 but not to Alagiri.
