AIADMK functions as if it’s the Tamil Nadu branch of the BJP: Stalin

Launching a scathing attack on the ruling AIADMK in the State, DMK’s working president M. Karunanidhi has said that the party was behaving and functioning as if it was the Tamil Nadu branch of the ruling BJP at the Centre.

Speaking to newspersons recently, chief-minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami had stated categorically that the AIADMK was in no mood to ally with the BJP.  Replying to the chief-minister, Stalin has termed the AIADMK as the ‘slave’ of the BJP at the Centre.

“The whole of the country in general and the people of Tamil Nadu in particular have found out the slavery attitude of the ruling AIADMK which is functioning as if it is the ‘Tamil Nadu Branch’ of the BJP at the Centre,” Stalin’s statement said.  “People are aware that this is the reason the minority AIADMK Govt. in the State is allowed to continue in power by the BJP,” he added.

“A casual reply to an RTI query filed with the Prime Minister’s Office revealed some time back that deputy chief-minister OPS didn’t talk about the State’s issues during his last meeting with the Prime Minister.  Both EPS and OPS are meeting the PM often only to serve their own personal interests and have ‘mortgaged’ the AIADMK with the BJP at the Centre.  People are watching this,” Stalin warned the AIADMK.
