Yashika Aannand finally answers if drunken driving caused her close friend’s death

Young actress Yashika Aannand who debuted in the Tamil movies ‘Dhruvangal 16’ and ‘Kavalai Vendam’ had a more prominent role in the adult comedy ‘Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu’.  She then had her breathrough in the entertainment industry by participating in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 2’ hosted by Kamal Haasan.  She stayed in the house for 98 days and walked out with a price money of five lakh rupees.

Yashika who started getting many film offers however met with a tragic accident in July 2021 when the car she was driving rammed into a road divder and toppled killing her close friend Bhavani Vallichetty who was travelling with her.  The accident occurred in ECR in Chennai after midnight.  The locals rescued the actress and she underwent treatment for more than three months for multiple fractures at the Apollo hospital in Chennai.

Yashika who has now returned to normalcy after recovering conducted a “Ask Me Anything” session with her followers on Twitter.  One user wrote “What is the status of that drink and drive accident case?? How you feel after killing your friend?”

Yashika replied to the rather insensitve question loaded with emotion “it’s not a *drink * n drive . As i was unconscious when I was taken to apollo hospital. N reports also claim to confirm that I wasn’t drunk . Before just judging anything without any proper information don’t spread rumours . Wish dint have these fractures n could hv gone instead.”

The 22 year old actress is said to have given her career best performance in the upcoming film ‘Kadamaiyai Sei’ costarring S.J. Suryah.  She has in her kitty films such as ‘Ivan Than Uthaman’, ‘Raja Bheema’, ‘Pambattam’, ‘Sulphur’, ‘Bhageera’, ‘Siruthai Siva’ and ‘Bestie’.
