Actress Vijayalakshmi’s heartfelt post about the late actor Abhinay

Actor Abhinay passed away in Chennai yesterday (Nov. 10) due to ill health. Celebrities from the film industry and fans are expressing their condolences over his demise.
In this situation, actress Vijayalakshmi has shared an emotional post.

In it, she wrote: “After the film Chennai 28, I acted alongside actor Abhinay in a satellite radio advertisement. At that time, he was at No. 1 in the advertising world. According to the story, we played a newly married Tamil couple. In it, after marriage, the woman goes to a northern state and, struggling with an unfamiliar language, feels homesick and distant from her husband. On one such night, a wonderful Tamil song plays on the radio. Hearing it, the woman breaks down emotionally. Then, closeness develops between husband and wife. It was a very soulful advertisement.

The shooting for that ad took place in Delhi for 4 days. I’m not the Vijayalakshmi of today; I was the one back then. I used to feel scared around strangers, hesitant to go anywhere alone, and was very shy by nature. An apartment was booked for me to stay in Delhi.

Suddenly, Abhinay arrived to stay in my room as another person. At that time, I was in love with Feroz (husband). In such a situation, I didn’t tell Feroz about staying alone in the same room with another man. I handled it with anxiety.But Abhinay… what a gentleman! A man with professional discipline and elegance. He would put his full effort into every frame. After shooting ended and we returned to the apartment at night, I would go inside my room. But he would sit alone in the living room, drinking. Every time I opened the door to check if he was there, he would be sitting quietly, sipping alcohol, finishing a full bottle, and passing out.

Seeing a young actor drinking alone like this made my heart feel very heavy. One such night, while he was drinking, he saw me and asked, ‘Do you drink?’ I said, ‘I don’t have the habit,’ and he said, ‘Have juice then.’ Fearing what might be in it, I refused and said no. Then, I asked a question I thought I shouldn’t even ask.‘Why do you drink like this…? You’re a hardworking young successful person. Why this habit?’ I asked. Abhinay spoke for more than 2 hours about his personal life, responsibilities, his mother, pressures, pains, and loneliness. I listened carefully and fully without saying anything, letting everything pour out from his heart. When we parted at the airport after the shoot, Abhinay told me, ‘Thank you, Viji. No one has ever listened to my pains like this before. Does God create women like this too? If you have a twin sister, let me know.’ I burst out laughing, hugged him, and sent him off. That was the last time we met. After that, I now hear that he has passed away. I feel like crying. But this isn’t out of sorrow… it’s with happiness thinking that his struggles have finally ended… that he has finally found his peace.

I won’t quietly say ‘rest in peace.’ I’ll say, ‘Party big, buddy.’ Because this time, he won’t drink thinking about his pains. He’ll drink tasting his freedom.”
