This Diwali was supposed to be a "Thala" diwali for Ajith fans as his 'Valimai' was initially planned for release on the festive date. But due to the coronavirus pandemic the film was postponed to Pongal 2022. To compensate for that photos of Ajith and his wife Shalini celebrating diwali at home went viral on the internet.

The Thala devotees were floored especially by the stunning red shirt and white dhoti the box office king wore while his better half was alluring in a simple yellow salwar. Now to add to the frenzy Shalini's younger sister actress Shamlee has shared more photos with her loving sister. She compliments her sibling with a grand pink top and skirt.

In the 80s and 90s both Shalini and Shamlee ruled the South Indian film industry as child actresses for who played lead roles in several films. Shalini can boast of such memorable films in Tamil such as 'Osai', 'Pillai Nila', 'Bandham' and 'Nilavae Malare'. She played the heroine opposite top stars of the time like Madhavan in 'Alaipaayuthey', Vijay in 'Kadhalukku Mariyadhai' and 'Kannukkul Nilavu' and Prashanth in 'Piriyadha Varam Vendum'.

It was during the making of 'Amarkalam' directed by Saran that Ajith and Shalini fell in love with each other and got married. The couple are proud parents of Anoushka Ajith and Aadvik Ajith.

Shamlee on the other hand became a child superstar headlining films namely 'Durga', 'Thaipoosam', and Mani Ratnam's 'Anjali'. After growing up she has played heroine in four movies in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
