Actress Saritha Nair sentenced to three years jail by Coimbatore court

The Coimbatore court has sentenced actress Saritha Nair to three years jail term and a fine of ten thousand rupees in the solar panel scam case in which she is the prime accused and her ex-husband Biju Radhakrishnan and manager Ravi have also been sentenced. Saritha a small-time Malayalam actress had set up a solar panel business in Vadavalli, Coimbatore and had got money to the tune of rupees six crores from thirty clients to set up windmills from the city and the neighbouring Nilgiris districts. When the product was not delivered and money not returned a cheating case was registered against the three.
Saritha also jolted the Kerala Congress government in 2017 by levelling allegations against the then Chief Minister Oomen Chandy and minister Hibi Eden. In 2019 Parliamentary elections she contested against Rahul Gandhi in the Wayanad constituency and got around three hundred votes.
