Murdered actress Sandhiya’s missing head – Police take decision

On January 20th the Pallikarnai area in Chennai went into shock as a woman’s legs and right hand were found in a garbage dump.  On further investigation, the police found that the brutally severed body parts belonged to actress Sandhiya and later her husband film director Balakrishnan was arrested for murdering her.  Read:Why director Balakrishnan murdered his wife and how he was caught

For the past two months, a search was on to locate Sandhiya’s head and a part of her torso which were still missing.  The police have decided to call off the search as there is very little likelihood of finding it from the huge garbage dump.  Sandhya’s parents have confirmed that the leg belonged to their daughter and  DNA tests from samples taken from them will also be used for final confirmation.  Balakumaran is in jail and the case will continue according to police sources.
