R.K. Selvamani one of the biggest filmmakers during the nineties later became the head of FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) and is admired for standing by the workers belonging to the 24 crafts of cinema during many a crisis.
On the domestic front Selvamani and Roja, the top heroine of the time dated for several years before tying the knot in 2002. The couple have daughter Ashumalika and son Krishna Lohith. Anshumalika is a budding award winning writer, entreprenuer and social worker.
It was reported a few days back that Anshumalika is making her acting debut opposite Dhruv Vikram in a new Telugu/Tamil movie. Selvamani has dismissed the reports as mere rumour. He has further stated that his daughter is flying abroad for her higher studies and will be back home only after four years. He added that if at all on her return she decides on an acting career a decision will be taken at that time.
