Rachitha Mahalakshmi gained immense popularity among fans for her authentic portrayal of the title role in the hit serial 'Saravanan Meenatchi' season 2 aired on Vijay TV. She played the pair of Kavin who appeared as Vettaiyan. During the making of her debut serial 'Pirivom Santhipom', Rachitha fell in love with her costar Dinesh and they got married in 2013. Nine years after the marriage the couple are now separated.

Rachitha is currently one of the star contestants of 'Bigg Boss Tamil 6' hosted by Kamal Haasan airing on Vijay TV and streaming 24/7 on Disney Plus Hotstar. In one of the tasks on the show named "Oru Kathai Sollattaa" the contestants were asked to speak about their personal lives.

After the task Rachitha was seen speaking to Azeem and Queensy that she lost everything in life because of her family. She revealed that even though she is from Bengaluru she has never gone to a pub and her friends would troll her. She added that she never enjoyed herself and wasted her youth thinking about her family. But in return she did not get anything but her family has caused trouble for her.

Meanwhile reports emerged that Rachitha separated from Dinesh because he wanted a child but she disagreed because it will hinder her acting commitments. However these reports have not been cross verified with the concerned parties. Further Dinesh wished Rachitha on her social media after her 'Bigg Boss 6' entry suggesting that they are on friendly terms. The truth behind the woes of the celebrity couple may come out in the open only if Rachitha shares it on the show.
