The COVID 19 lockdown has caused serious livelihood problems for those in the film and television industries and some of them not able to cope with it are taking the extreme step. Actress Preksha Mehta known for the television series ‘Crime Patrol’ and a supporting role in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Padman’ has apparently committed suicide by hanging herself on the ceiling of her bedroom.
Preksha had posted a last selfie on Instagram with a caption in Hindi that means “The worst is when your dreams die”. It is said that she also left a suicide note and neighbours have said that she was hit by the lockdown financially and was also depressed that she may not get jobs in the near future.
Only two years back Preksha Mehta had moved to Mumbai with her parents and was confident on making it big in Bollywood and was also noticed but the lockdown obviously put an end to her dreams. Only a week back actor Manmeet Grewal also committed suicide due to depression of losing out acting jobs due to the pandemic.
