Actress Poorna made her debut in Tamil in the 2008 hit 'Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu' directed by Thirumurugan and starring Bharath in the lead role. She has since starred in several films including 'Kandhakottai', 'Thagaraaru', 'Kodiveeran', 'Savarakthi', 'Adanga Maru' and 'Kaapaan'.

Poorna whose real name is Shamna Kasim has announced her engagement on social media. She shared cute photos with her fiance and wrote "With the blessings of family stepping to my next part of life❤️?? and now it’s official".

Poorna's fiance is Shanid Asif Ali a UAE businessman who is the founder and CEO of JBS Group of companies. The couple are said to have met through mutual freinds and after getting to know each other for some time have decided to take the plunge. The wedding date will be announced later.

Poorna who was last seen in Arunraja Kamaraj's 'Nenjukku Needhi' has several films upcoming including Mysskin's 'Pisaasu 2'.
