Actress Mehreen Pirzada has strongly reacted to false reports circulating online about her personal life, firmly denying rumours of her marriage and calling out the spread of misinformation in digital media.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mehreen expressed her frustration over what she described as “bizarre” and irresponsible reporting. The actress revealed that she has remained silent for nearly two years but chose to speak up now due to continuous harassment stemming from fabricated news articles.
Mehreen specifically addressed a report published by DNA India, which falsely claimed that she was married to an individual she stated she has never met or interacted with. She clarified that the information was entirely untrue and alleged that her Wikipedia page had been tampered with, leading to the spread of incorrect details.
“I’m not married to anyone,” Mehreen stated unequivocally, adding a touch of humour by saying that when she does decide to get married, the world will certainly know about it.
The actress also criticized the current state of journalism, pointing out the rise of what she termed “paid articles” and the lack of accountability in publishing unverified information. She tagged prominent platforms, urging them to take responsibility and ensure accuracy before publishing personal details about public figures.
In addition, Mehreen appealed to Wikipedia to tighten its editing policies, stressing that open editing allows random individuals to alter sensitive personal information. She asserted that she herself remains the most reliable source when it comes to details about her own life.
Mehreen Pirzada’s strong response has once again highlighted the growing issue of misinformation in the digital age and the impact it has on public figures. Her statement serves as a reminder of the importance of ethical journalism, fact-checking, and responsible reporting in an era where false news can spread rapidly across platforms.
