Tamil cinema during the past week is in the news more for various controversies than for exciting new projects. A few days back it was alleged that director Seenu Ramasamy tried to sexually exploit actress Manisha Yadav during the making of 'Idam Porul Yeaval'. She was later replaced in the film with Nandita Swetha.

Seenu Ramasamy denied the allegations stating that Manisha Yadav thanked him during the 'Oru Kuppa Kathai' audio launch and will soon be working with him. Manisha who is married and settled in Bengaluru reacted to it by posting on X "WHAT SORT OF SEENU RAMASAMY MOVIE AM I ACTING IN ?? I'M HEARING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. JUST BECAUSE I THANKED HIM (BECAUSE HE WAS PRESENT ON THE STAGE OF THE AUDIO LAUNCH FUNCTION OF OKK), JUST LIKE I DID TO EVERYBODY ON THE STAGE,DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I STICK BY EVERY WORD I SAID 9 YEARS AGO. AND WHY DO I NEED TO WORK WITH SOMEBODY WHO HAD BEEN SO DISRESPECTFUL TO ME ONCE. SIR SEENURAMSAMY PLS GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!" (sic)"

Seenu Ramasamy in a recent interview further clarified that during the shooting of 'Idam Porul Yeaval' Manisha and he were staying in different hotels. According to issue was that she did not suit the village character and so offerred her the choice of acing opposite Vishnu Vishal in the same film. But Manisha insisted on pairing with Vijay Sethupathi and thats why she was removed from the film. The 'Maamanithan' maker further alleged that she was angered by that and falsely accused him".

To the question why he then appraoched her suddenly for a new role, Seenu defended himself by saying that there was a lawyer character that he felt would suit her and so appraoched her.

Manisha has reacted even more firmly after this interview "A few days ago I received a call from Seenu Ramaswamy's office. They asked me if I was acting in his new film. I was apprehensive why someone who had not spoken to me for years... wanted me now " said the talented actress.

She added "The way he behaved in 'Idam Porul Yeaval' was very bad. He tried to get close to me many times with the wrong intentions but I refused to comply with his wishes. So he removed me from the film. He spread false information in the movie industry that I do not know how to act."

Manisha explained "So I turned down his new film offer a few days ago. I told my mother about this. I thanked him in the 'Oru Kuppa Kathai' event only due to stage courtesy. She questioned how dare someone who behaved so badly lie like this and whether Seenu was under the impression that by giving her a chance in a new film, his mistakes will be covered up?"

Manisha concluded "I have no respect for such people who lack even basic humanity. I have a good husband, friends and family relations. No new heroine like me should ever have to go through such bad experiences with people like him".
