Kavitha, a well-known veteran actress, has appeared in over 350 films in all South Indian languages right from her debut at the age of 11 in ‘O Manju’ in Tamil and ‘Siri Siri Muvva’ in Telugu, both released in 1976.
To the current generation, Kavitha is popular as a character artist who has appeared in hundreds of films most notably as the mother of heroes and heroines. She has also done prime-time television serials ‘Nandhini’ and ‘Endrendrum Punnagai,’ which are presently airing.
Earlier this month both Kavitha’s husband Dhasathararaj and son Sai Roop were infected with COVID 19 and became seriously ill. They were admitted to a private hospital in Chennai and most unfortunately Sai Roop in his early thirties passed away on June 16th.
Now two weeks later tragedy has again struck Kavitha as early this morning (June 30th) her husband Dhasaratharaj too succumbed to complications from the deadly virus Many film industry colleagues have reached out to Kavitha to express their condolences. RIP!
