Natural Star Nani’s Unanimous Productions has announced an exciting update about its upcoming film Alias Rukmini, featuring Nithiin in the lead role. The makers have officially introduced Bollywood actress Aafiya Sayed as the female lead, unveiling a glimpse that showcases her in the role of a strict and intimidating schoolteacher. Her distinctive characterisation has added to the curiosity surrounding this upcoming entertainer, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 4, 2026.
Following the success of COURT – State Vs A Nobody, Nani’s production house is backing another promising project with an unconventional storyline. Directed by Dhandora fame Murali Kanth Devasoth and produced by Deepthi Ganta, the film is expected to present Nithiin in a refreshing new avatar.
The latest glimpse introduces Aafiya Sayed as Rukmini, a schoolteacher feared by her students for her strict and commanding behaviour. The students have given her nicknames such as Devil, Hitler and Homework Police, reflecting her intimidating personality.
In the glimpse, Rukmini writes her name on the classroom board with an angry expression before turning towards the students with a stern stare. Her authoritative attitude and arrogance form the central highlight of the introduction. Aafiya looks impressive in the role, with her appearance and expressions complementing the character’s personality.
The glimpse has offered an interesting preview of the humour and character-driven entertainment that the film aims to deliver.
Alias Rukmini has already attracted attention following the release of its announcement glimpse, which offered a taste of its distinctive humour. The film’s first-look poster also received a positive response, raising expectations among audiences.
The story revolves around Krishna, a man whose uncomplicated life takes an unexpected turn when love brings a closely guarded secret to light. As personal relationships clash with social perceptions, the narrative explores themes of truth, acceptance and the boundaries imposed by society.
With romantic elements blended into an intriguing central conflict, the film promises to offer a different cinematic experience. Nithiin’s characterisation is expected to be one of its major attractions.
Jomon T. John ISC is handling the cinematography, while Vijai Bulganin is composing the music. Avinash Kolla is overseeing the production design, and Srujana Adusumilli is responsible for editing.
