Actress Charmila started her career as a child artiste in the Sivaji Ganesan starrer 'Nallathoru Kudumbam' released in 1979. She later debuted as heroine in 'Oyilattam' 1991 and went on to star as heroine in several Tamil and Malayalam films.

Charmila got married to Malayalam actor Kishor Satya in 1995 but she divorced him four years later after his alleged extra marital affair came to light. The actress then tied the knot with Rajesh an engineer in 2006 and gave birth to a son.

Charmila's second marriage also failed and the divorce was finalised in 2014 and she is living with her son now. In an exclusive interview with us the 48 year old actress has opened up on the sexual harassment and casting couch experiences she has faced.

Charmila has shared on the video that recently she committed to play the mother character of the heroine in a Malayalam film that was shot in Calicut. The producers all aged around 24 initially addressed her as "Chechi" meaning elder sister but after three days they approached her assistant and offerred rupees fifty thousand for sexual favors.

The perverted young men then had demanded Charmila to choose one of them have sex with him. The actress then had adviced them that they are only a little older than their sons and they should consider her as a mother figure but they wouldnt listen. She had then caught a flight and returned to Chennai.

Similarly the veteran has warned single mothers like her that young men under the guise of love will approach them on whatsapp and social media. If the women get attracted by them and let them in to their lives they will exploit them sexually and then after their lust is satisfied will disappear. Charmila has opened up more about the dangers faced by women in the film industry in the video below.
