Actor Vishal approached the Madras High Court recently to appeal against a judgment passed by a single judge in September 2023. The case was filed by Lyca Productions over a loan of 21.29 crores taken by Vishal during the filming of ‘Marudhu’, which he had promised to repay with interest.
Lyca Productions filed a civil lawsuit against Vishal seeking 30.05 crores to be repaid by the actor. The High Court directed Stone Bench Films, the producers of Vishal’s upcoming film ‘Rathnam’, to pay his balance salary of 2.6 crores to the credit of the case by Lyca Productions in September 2023. The studio has already paid the actor 5.4 crores.
Now, Puratchi Thalapathy Vishal filed an appeal opposing the previous judgement passed by PT Asha in this case. We have to wait and see what the court decides regarding this case. ‘Rathnam’ is an upcoming action entertainer directed by Hari starring Vishal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Yogi Babu, Gautham Menon, Samuthirakani and others.
