Simbu’s long love for number 9 continues – Are these the reasons?

Simbu may have had his producers in a muddle a few years back but his staunch fan following is still intact.  He has been on a comeback trail for the past couple of years by giving up alcohol and working out hard to turn slim and fit.

On August 6th the title of Simbu’s new movie ‘Nadhigalle Neeradum Suryan’ was changed to ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’.  The film which has gone on floors is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and produced by Ishari Ganesh with A.R. Rahman scoring the music.  The title change poster was unveiled at 12.15 pm and showed a hitherto unseen raw image from GVM with Simbu in a rural getup amidst charred remains.

Netizens have now pointed out that Simbu is adamant on following the number nine in all his recent film-related announcements.  It is said that right from his first film as hero ‘Kadhal Azhivathillai his father T.R. has been insistent that the number 9 is associated in every step he takes.

Recent examples apart from ‘Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu’ 12.15pm which totals up to 9, ‘Maanaadu’ teaser at 5.04 am, ‘Maanadu’ first look at 10.44 am, ‘Maanaadu’ lyric video 4.50 pm, Simbu’s Instagram account was started at 9.09 am, the video “Am coming back” at 9.09 am, ‘Easwaran’ teaser release early morning 4.32 am and the list goes on.

Netizens are also posting memes that suggest that Simbu is unable to forget his ex-girlfriend Nayanthara and that’s why he is fixated on the number nine.  However industry insiders swear that it is T.R.’s astrological calculations that Simbu follows studiously.

Simbu has his hands full with upcoming films that include ‘Maha’, ‘Maanaadu’, ‘Pathu Thala’, ‘Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu’, ‘Corona Kumar’ and is in talks for a few more.
