Ingredients for an intelligent cop movie – ‘Nibunan’ trailer review

The upcoming ‘Nibunan’ written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan carries the hype of being the 150th film of Action King Arjun. If you are dismissive that it is yet another cop actioner the trailer suggests that there is more brain than brawn to the story.

There is a cryptic episode of cop Arjun deciphering a murder scene with the help of a painting possibly left by the psycho killer which hooks the viewer in the beginning.

There is an unexpected twist that the investigating officer Arjun, hot on the heels of the killer is struck down by a Parkinson’s like disease which as the dialogue says should never afflict a cop. The interesting casting of Arjun, Prasanna, Vaibav and Varu, Arvind Krishna’s neat cinematography, Sathish Surya’s crisp cuts, S. Naveen’s bgm along with the stylish direction of Arun Vaidyanathan sells the film as an intriguing cat and mouse thriller with novel twists.
