Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman has decided to go back to Srinagar and join his squadron during his sick leave of four weeks. He preferred to be with his men and machines instead of visiting his family and parents in Chennai according to an airforce press release after his doctor’s advice.
Abhinandan became a national hero after he shot down a Pakistani F-16 plane after his MiG 21 Bison went down in the POK region and was held captive by the enemy. The Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan released him on March 1st as a peace gesture.
