Australian opener and T20 captain Aaron Finch slammed 172 run off 76 balls to record the highest individual score by a batsman in the history of the game in internationals. Put in to bat by Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Mazakadzka Finch smashed 10 sixes and 16 boundaries to beat his own high score of 156 he made against England at Southampton in 2013 which remained unbeaten till date.
Aaron Finch and felow opener DJM Short also recorded the highest partnership of 223 the first 200 plus score by any team in T20Is.
At the time of this writing the Zimbabweans struck by the run onslaught had no answers and were reeling at 118/7 losing their top order cheaply and the tail enders staring at certain defeat.
