The flood crisis in Kerala has finally mellowed down with people getting back to their routine life slowly. While many politicians, stars from the film fraternity and other governments have donated huge amounts to the state, the latest seems to be a little different.
A 12 year old Indian origin girl in Dubai has donated a gold cake worth over Rs.19 lakh for those affected in the floods. The gold cake which Pranathi Vivek received as a birthday gift weighs about half a kg. “She told me that she had a good sleep after donating the gold cake. . teenagers can help rebuild Kerala,” her father Vivek Kallidil said.
Pranathi is a class eight student of Delhi Public School and her father is an industrialist. The fund was handed over to Mathrubhumi in Dubai towards the Kerala Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Only a day back, a girl had donated all her piggy bank savings of Rs.9000 for the Kerala people. Isn’t it so refreshing and humane to see even the little ones show maturity and a sense of social responsibility!
