Earlier this month, 'AWE' and 'Kalki' director Prasanth Varma announced a zombie thriller titled 'Zombie Reddy'. Produced by Raj Shekar Varma, the film's title has come to be seen negatively by some.
In this regard, the filmmaker has issued a statement. "We have no intentions to hurt any community's sentiments. It's a pandemic film with Kurnool as the backdrop. How the people of the town battle an epidemic and save the world is what the film is about. Just as Hollywood films choose cities like New York as the backdrop, I have chosen Kurnool," Varma said.
"Please don't misunderstand the title. We are not going to degrade any caste in our film. If my first film 'AWE!' received national recognition, I am confident that 'Zombie Reddy' will receive international recognition," Varma added.
Produced by Apple Tree Studios, the film has a screenplay by Scriptsville, Prasanth Varma's creative team. Music is by Mark K Robin of 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya' fame, 'Zombie Ready' has cinematography by Anith. Production Design is by Sri Nagendra Tangala. The film's animated motion poster, released recently, has received a thunderous response, as per the director.
