Two days back a social media influencer named Hitesha Chandranee from Electronic City had posted a video on social media, alleging that a Zomato delivery agent had attacked her in the face and that she was left bleeding and the video turned viral leading to his arrest.
Now the Zomato delivery agent who was accused has revealed that the woman attacked him first with her slippers and when he tried to defend himself from her attack, her ring accidentally hit her face and caused her injuries.
The Zomato delivery agent Kamraj, 28, who hails from Chennakeshava Nagar was arrested by the police on Wednesday. He informed the police that he was delayed due to a long queue at the restaurant and when he reached, Chandranee refused to pay him the money and spoke to Zomato’s customer care executive to waive off the charges. She started fighting with Kamraj after he asked the money and however to validate his claim there are no CCTV cameras at the spot While the delivery agent has not filed a complaint, cases are filed against him under IPC section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and he’s out on bail now.
