Actress sexually harassed by man in flight, accused arrested

A 41-year-old man has been convicted by a court in Mumbai on Wednesday after he was found guilty of molesting a Bollywood actress, who was on board a domestic flight in December 2017.

The incident happened in an Air Vistara flight when the actress was on her way to Mumbai from Delhi. The victim narrated her ordeal through a Facebook video. She mentioned how the man sitting behind her had placed his feet on the armrest of her seat and went on to move his foot up and down her back and neck. So, I was in a flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai today and right behind me one middle-aged man who made my two-hour journey miserable. I tried to record it on phone to understand it better because the cabin lights were dimmed, I failed to get it. The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another five to ten minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck, she reportedly stated in the video.

The accused, identified as Vikas Sachdev, has been booked under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and also under relevant sections of the POCSO Act as the actress was 17 at the time of the incident.
