Director GNR Kumaravelan and music composer Vijay Antony seem to share a good rapport and that is evident from their first outing 'Ninaithalae Inikkum'. The two have now come together for 'Yuvan Yuvathi' starring Bharath and Reema Kallingal in lead roles.
The music album has seven songs of which Vijay Antony himself has rendered a couple. The songs are peppy and nice to listen to. The listener is reminded of Ilayaraja in a few numbers. And at the same time, Vijay Antony has come up with his typical songs too in the album.
1. Oh My Angel - Listen here
Singer: Vijay Antony
The number opens with catchy musical score and goes high pitched as it progresses. Vijay Antony's voice suits the lyrics and the instrumentation is brilliant. A perfect beginning for the album that promises more variety... Instrumentation is the highlight of the song.
2. Mayakka Oosi - Listen here
Singers: Vijay Prakash and Madhumitha
A melody number that is sure to appease fans. The vocals are cute and so are the lyrics. The lyrics are clear in rendition .Music takes a back stage and the voices dominate which is a rarity in Tamil film music these days. Vijay Prakash and Madhumitha render the song in style. Three cheers to Vijay Antony for the use of catchy tune.
3. 24 Hours - Listen here
Singer: Haricharan
A typical Vijay Antony song. It is pacy from the word go. '24 hours...' is a song for younger generation. Vijay Antony seems to have enjoyed thoroughly composing the song, as it is foot-tapping. Haricharan sings with gusto. He has given his best and the energy level is amazing. Catchy lyrics make it count. Different beat progressing at leisure pace is the USP of the song.
4. Kola Kuthu - Listen here
Singers: Vijay Antony, Snegha
Another 'Nakka Mukka...' from Vijay Antony. 'Kola Kuthu...' brims with loads and loads of energy and its enthusiasm immediately grips the listener too. Vijay Antony has crooned for this number along with Snegha and this one is the pick of the lot.
5. Un Kannai Partha Piragu - Listen here
Singers: Karthik and Ramya
First of all, let's cheer Karthik for his amazing rendition of the song. Catchy interlude and the composition by Vijay Antony make the song to stand out in the album. Ramya adds charm to the song by giving right company to Karthik. The lyrics add necessary pep.
6. Kadalai Poduran - Listen here
Singer: Krishnan Mahesan
The song as it starts is evident is aimed at college-goers. A kuthu number with touches of rap, it sounds the more like 'Aathichudi...'. Catchy tune, pacy background score and racy interludes make it count. A song that is sure to top the audio charts.
7. Ullangai - Listen here
Singer: Sangeetha Rajeswaran
A soft melody from Vijay Antony. Sangeetha Rajeshwaran deserves all credit for her soulful rendition. The composer has underplayed musical sounds and the lyrics dominate. An interesting tune that has all the qualities to stick to the hearts of melody-lovers.
All said, 'Yuvan Yuvathi' is a catchy musical album from Vijay Antony. It is sure a trendy and catchy mix though not classical.
