A few months ago Vishal made a shocking announcement that 'Sandakozhi 2' the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster 'Sandakozhi' has been dropped and accused the director Lingusamy for being unprofessional.

But now all issues seems to have been sorted out and the much expected sequel is back on the cards. Lingusamy will be directing Vishal again in this film. The film will start probably after Vishal completed 'Kaththi Sandai' directed by Suraaj and 'Thupparivalan' with Mysskin. Lingusamy also has to complete Telugu-Tamil bilingual with Allu Arjun before he gets ready for 'Sandakozhi 2'.

Now information coming from reliable sources confirm that sequel will retain music director Yuvan Shankar Raja who gave chart-buster numbers like 'Dhavani potta deepavali', 'Ketta kodukkura boomi idhu' and 'Mundasu sooriyane'.

Meera Jasmine who gave a memorable performance in the first part will be acting in the sequel also while the film will also have another leading actress in its star cast.
