An incident of a Dalit youth being thrashed by followers of an MPTC belonging to the ruling YCP has come to light in Andhra Pradesh. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has questioned Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the same.
Calling it a shocking incident, the former AP CM wrote, "Is being from an underprivileged background a crime, Jagan? This Dalit youngster was stripped, tied and thrashed by YSRCP MPTC followers only because he questioned the lack of development in his area. Does he not have the right to question?"
Naidu opined that trampling upon the rights of the underprivileged has become a hallmark of the YSRCP rule. "We will stand with the victim and his family and strive until justice is delivered and perpetrators are punished," Naidu added.
In other news, the TDP has alleged that YCP leaders like Kodali Nani today tried their best to prevent SSC-failed children from interacting with Nara Lokesh over a Zoom call about the perception that 2 lakh students got failed because of some discrepancies in recent results.
This is shocking. Is being from an underpriviledged background a crime, @ysjagan? This Dalit youngster was stripped, tied & thrashed by YSRCP MPTC followers only because because he questioned lack of development in his area. Does he not have the right to question?(1/2) pic.twitter.com/NI1xuDoC1Z
