YRF announces release dates for Prithviraj, Shamshera and others projects

It takes no genius to understand how terribly the pandemic has affected the film industry. With most theatres out of the business, filmmakers were forced to hold the release of their projects and lose money in the process. Now as Maharashtra government has announced the decision of lifting the ban from movie theatres, several filmmakers have announced their projects' release dates. Yash Raj Films had several completed films which they were forced to hold on to.

However, after Maharashtra government's decision, the studio announced the release dates of four of their films. Their comedy flick 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' starring Sidhhant Chaturvedi, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee will release on 19th of November 2021. Then comes one of Akshay Kumar's many films. Titled 'Prithviraj', it is YRF's first historical drama and Akshay will be seen in the titular role of the warrior king. The film will release on 21st of January 2022.

Next one in thr line up is 'Jayeshbhai Jordar'. Directed by Divyang Thakkar, this Ranveer Singh flick will release on 25th of January 2022. This film is set against the theme of women empowerment and it will feature Ranveer Singh in the role of a Gujrati man. The fourth and last movie on the list is Ranbir Kapoor's 'Shamshera'. Directed by Karan Malhotra, this flick will hit the screens on March 18, 2022. Vaani is Kapoor plays an important part in this flick while Sanjay Dutt plays the main antagonist.
