Youngsters rescue a pregnant cat; get rewarded with Rs 10 lakh

Recently, a heartwarming video of a pregnant cat named being rescued by a group of four men in Dubai as she fell from a building was doing the rounds on social media. In the video, the men stood below the building with a bedsheet spread on which the cat fell. Later, they fed her so that she felt better. The video went viral on all social media platforms, with several netizens lauding their efforts and it finally drew the attention of Dubai's ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Taking to his Twitter handle, he shared the video and wrote, "Proud and happy to see such acts of kindness in our beautiful city. Whoever identifies these unsung heroes, please help us thank them." He also announced AED 50,000(Rs 10 lakh) as a reward for their act of kindness.
The rescue efforts were done by two Indians from Kerala, a Pakistani man named Atif Mehmood and a Moroccan security guard, Ashraf. Kothamangalam native Naser Shihab and Vadakara native Muhammed Rashid were the Malayali members of the four-member gang. Naser Shihab works as a bus driver at the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai while Mohammad Rashid runs a grocery shop there. After Naser spotted the cat dangling on the balcony. The other soon came together with the bedsheet and rescued the heavily pregnant cat. The video came to the limelight after Muhammed Rashid shared the video on Instagram after which it had gone viral.
