What happens when essentially a b-town romancer gets doped in a phony political premise of hope.. its  neither bad nor unwatchable, but nevertheless it's a disappointment to see how b-town escapisms fail to rise to a potential cinematic high with the challenge of having politics as the backdrop of your script but ending up just as a sweet vote taking ceremony which our real life politicians take but never fulfill..

Anyways the utopian neta played to distinction, conviction and maturity by Jacky Bhagnani gives a reason no matter how phony it might seem to dream a messiah like the twenty eight-year-old Abhimanyu Kaul (Jackky Bhagnani) to become the PM of India and change things at the snap of his will without any opposition from the opposition parties.. party..

The Prime Minister of India (Boman Irani), is about to die while his son Abhimanyu is having a ball of a time gaming his life with his sweetheart Anwita (Neha) in Tokyo and his job.

Dying PM last wish is to make Abhimanyu the heir of the PM chair. Things change in the life of Anwita and Abhimanyu they are now VVIP trapped in the Z security of Delhi's south block.. after initial hesitation Abhimanyu comes to terms to his position as the country's CM but Anwita is not happy by being stripped from all the privacy she and Abhimanyu enjoyed.. Fantastic till now..

Abhimanyu is now mostly occupied by Akbar uncle (Farooq Sheikh - nobody can forget you sir) the PA to the PM who monitors his actions day in and day out where the political drama is stretched to a superficial make believe phony extant while Anwita keeps on complaining about being not given the required attention which after a point also seems farfetched and so sugary in those scenarios though Anwita's act is done well by Neha.

First time helmer Syed Ahmed Afzal and his debutant writers Ramiz and Maitrey does show some spark of freshness but unfortunately they lack the continuing consistency and very less surprise and believable episodes making the movie suffer from predictability.

Music by Jeet Ganguly, Shree Isshq, Sneha Khanwalkar and Shiraz Uppal is soothing `Suno Na Sangemarmar' is the pick of the lot.

Vashu Bhagnani as the producer pours his heart into the project and lefts no stone unturned but the writer and the director just couldn,t put the required mind to give it the require conviction and to add insult to the injury it also gets hurriedly preachy we even see Jackyy giving a speech at a UN conference within 90 days of his swearing in ceremony.. to make matters worse Jackyy character might appear to be inspired by Rahul Gandhi by many.

Youngistaan could have become the cinematic political anthem in this election season and the premise gave all the opportunity but unfortunately it's so dreamy like having a utopian state in reality or a Taj Mahal once again.
