On Thursday, a 21-year-old woman named Drishya was stabbed to death by a stalker. The incident happened in Kerala's Malappuram district. The stalker identified as Vineesh Vinod (21) was Drishya's classmate. He had been stalking her for a while. Though the relatives of the woman had earlier lodged a complaint at the police, Vineesh was was let free after a warning.
On Thursday morning at around 8 a.m, Vineesh broke into Drishya's house and stabbed her to death. Her 13-year-old sister Devasree, who tried to block the attack was also seriously injured. Their mother was in the bathroom when the assault took place. The locals immediately took the sisters to the hospital. While Drishya was declared dead, Devasree is getting treated for her injuries. When the accused tried to escape in an autorickshaw, the driver tricked him and took him to the police station. Though he tried to run, the people at the station caught him.
A day ago, the shop owned by Drishya's father Balachandran, was set ablaze. The police suspect that Vineesh is behind this too. Vineesh is said to have purposefully set fire to the shop so that Drishya's father won't be available at home during the crime.
