Cricketer from Kolkata's team dies on-field

A young minor-league cricketer from Kolkata collapsed on-field during a practice match on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old player, named Sonu Yadav, hailed from Kolkata. He was playing for the Ballygunge Sporting Club in Cricket Association of Bengal’s second division league when he collapsed on the ground. The match was happening in the Bata Club ground. Sonu Yadav was returning to the tent following his batting when he fell unconscious. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was unfortunately declared dead on arrival. A senior member of the team reportedly said, “I cannot believe that Sonu is no more. He was a very talented cricketer. I heard the news in the afternoon. I pray to Almighty so that it gives strength to his family to deal with this loss.”
The exact reason for the cricketer’s death is not known and shall be determined once the post-mortem report is sent in.
