Ever since the Tuticorin riots and firings on Tuesday, the situation in parts of Tamil Nadu has been really bad. Latest, data services have been suspended in the districts of Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari. Until May 27, there won't be any Internet connection in these places, reports say.
Kamal Haasan is of the view that such extreme steps can lead to an uprising. "Internet connection cut in Thooththukkudi? Alarming! What next? Excommunicate Tamilnadu? TN would see an uprising, much bigger than any, in its history. No Government is strong enough to take on the might of my people," he said a while ago on Wednesday.
Earlier today, he thanked the CM of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy for inviting him to his swearing-in ceremony. "Hearty congratulations to the new Govt. It’s a good starting point for a dialogue between our States. It was also a platform for a healthy exchange of views with all other party leaders. Curious to see what follows," the Makkal Needhi Maiam leader said.
