Saif Ali Khan would soon be seen in a dashing debonair avtar in 'Race 2', the promo of which has just been unveiled on the internet. While the sequel to one of his most loved action dramatic thrillers is already being much awaited, what has continued to puzzle some of his 'well wishers' though is his continued lover boy act, most recently being 'Cocktail' which is incidentally also his highest grossing film till date.
Though quite a few voices around him suggested that he was well past his prime to be enacting the role of a lover boy, he still went ahead and did one. Though it didn't seem to have pleased his critics much, the money paying audience was more than happy to embrace his much cherished role.
He smiles, What I have also seen is that there is great difference between what critics say and how audience responds to your film. I am not saying critics don't make sense; sometimes there is a point in what they say. However in general you have to go by what is massively popular. Critics have always questioned me whenever I play a flirt.
They say - 'There you go, he is doing the same thing all over again'. But guess that, such films of mine are still opening well in theatres. So you tell me, whom should I be taking seriously?
Well, one can just say that these voices would only die a natural death when 'Race 2' turns out to be a massive success as well.
Starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel in principal roles, 'Race 2' is directed by Abbas-Mustan and releases all over on 25th January.
