Yogi's father dies, CM not to do last rites due to lockdown

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s father Anand Singh Bisht today passed away at Dehli's AIIMS. He was 8 and had been on a ventilator since last month.

The CM has said that he won’t attend his father’s funeral as it would be a violation of the national lockdown. An IAS officer revealed that the BJP leader was in a meeting when he first came to know about the sad news of his father's demise. The news of his father breathing his last came to him in the midst of a meeting. Unfazed by the news, Yogi Adityanath stood up only after completing the meeting on COVID-19, he wrote.

Yogi has come in for praise for his decision to put duty before family.
