Director Shankar gave Vadivelu his first break as a hero in 'Imsai Arasan 23 aam Pulikesi' released in 2006. Last year the sequel to the film was announced helmed by the original director Chimbu Devan. However after a few days shoot differences of opinions arose between the team and Vadivelu and even after several rounds of talks a compromise could not be reached.

Shankar then lodged a complaint with the TFPC and an ultimatum was given to Vadivelu to either finish 'Imsai Arasan 24 aam Pulikesi' or pay damages to the tune of rupees nine crores. The ace comedian is said to have agreed to act but has reportedly backtracked and is in no mood to cooperate with the team.

The hot buzz is that Shankar has decided to rope in Yogi Babu in place of Vadivelu and complete the film. The sources add that once Yogi Babu's upcoming film 'Dharmaprabu' releases basing on the response of the audience to the much sought after comedian's Lord Yama act, he could be the new Imsai Arasan. Looks like it could take some more time for the project to resume.
