Vadivelu who ruled Tamil cinema during the nineties and the new millenium lost ground after his switch to politics and has rarely been seen in the past decade. He also was embroiled in controversies after stalling Shankar's 'Imsai Arasan 24 aam Pulikesi' directed by Chimbudevan due to creative differences. The original movie directed by Chimbudevan released in the year 2006 remains Vadivlu's biggest hit as hero in his career.
A few months back an understanding was reached between Vadivelu, Shankar and Lyca Productions and 'Imsai Arasan 24 aam Pulikesi' was dropped. The remuneration and callsheet for the film is now being utilized for 'Naai Sekhar Returns'.
Meanwhile Chimbudevan is gearing up to begin a new film based on fishermen and he has started talks with Yogi Babu to play the lead. Earlier it was said that Yogi Babu was considered to replace Vadivelu in 'Imsai Arasan 24 aam Pulikesi' but it looks like its going to be a fresh subject. Stay tuned for the official update.
